Experience
Mary H. Guindon is currently Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Counseling and Human Services at
Johns Hopkins University. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia and has twenty years private practice
and consultation experience providing workshops and consultation services in educational, corporate, governmental,
hospital, and community settings. Dr. Guindon's areas of expertise are mental health and career management, adult
transitions, personal and executive coaching, relationship building, self-esteem, occupational stress, and effective
communications. She is a licensed psychologist (PA), a licensed clinical professional counselor (MD),
and a Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) Trainer. She serves on the American Counseling Association's
Professional Publications Committee and is on the editorial board of the National Career Development Association's
journal, Career Development Quarterly. She has published articles and chapters in numerous professional publications
and has made various presentations at national and international professional conferences in the career and optimal
mental health in organizational settings. She has recently spent a year teaching graduate courses for the U.S.
Military in Europe.
