Experience:
Barbara E. McMullen is Director of the Center for E-Business at Marist College and creator of The E-Commerce Radio Program from Marist College. She was previously the Director of Academic Technology at Tufts University and earlier Director of Academic Computing at Marist College. McMullen has also been an adjunct professor of computer science and public administration at Marist College. She also taught at New York University and at The New School For Social Research. Barbara McMullen has been professionally involved with computer systems since 1964 and has been an executive in the information systems area of large corporations as well as president of the consulting firm, McMullen & McMullen, Inc. She is the co-author of "Microcomputer communications: A Window on the World,"(John Wiley & Sons), one of the first books on microcomputer communications, and over 1,000 news and magazine articles. McMullen has also been a contributing editor to major technological publications and is currently a charter editor for the "Gallery of Course Vignettes," published by David Brown, Ph.D., Vice President and Dean, International Center for Computer Enhanced Learning (ICCEL), Wake Forest University. She is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and is cited in"Who's Who In American Women". As Director of Academic Computing at Marist College, McMullen founded "Marist Country," one of the first 1,000 World Wide Web servers. Its primary purpose was to promote faculty who were incorporating technology into the curriculum and to be a platform for experimentation and exploration for Marist faculty and students. In her roles as director of Academic Technology at Tufts University and director of Academic Computing at Marist, McMullen created the Power!Team program as a model of support for faculty multimedia development.
