Experience:
Dr.Withrow has been a classroom teacher, early childhood educator,
Director of Research and Clinical Services for the Department of Children and Family Services
for the state of Illinois. For thirty years he was the Senior Learning Technologist at the U.S.
Department of Education. He worked as a Technology Policy Specialist for the Council of Chief
State School Officers and as the Director of Education Programs for the NASA Classroom of the
Future. He has represented the United States at a number of international meetings.He has more
than 200 film and television credits. He has written numerous articles and edited several books
on education and technology. His latest book "Preparing Schools and School Systems for the 21th
Century" was the featured book for the American Association of School Administrators at their
February 1999 conference.
Dr. Withrow has received a number of awards including the Second Leadership in Advocacy for
Distance Learning Award for the United States Distance Learning Association. Dr. Withrow was a
Battelle Memorial Fellow studying the influence of technology on child growth and development.
